Description

Denicite film-coated tablets help reduce nicotine cravings and ultimately help you quit using nicotine products for good.

Mixture

The active substance of the drug is cytisine.

One coated tablet contains 1.5 mg of cytisine (Cytisinum).

Excipients: calcium phosphate anhydrous; Potato starch; Pregelatinized corn starch; Talc; Calcium phosphate; Opadry AMB II 88A265001 brown [polyvinyl alcohol, talc, yellow iron oxide (E 172), titanium dioxide (E 171), red iron oxide (E 172), glycerol monocaprylic caproate, sodium lauryl sulfate].

Dosage

Always use this medicine as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you are unsure, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

The medicine is taken orally with an appropriate amount of water.

Days of therapy Dosage Maximum daily dose

From 1 to 3 days 1 film-coated tablet every 2 hours 6 film-coated tablets.

From day 4 to 12, 1 coated tablet every 2.5 hours. 5 film-coated tablets.

From day 13 to 16, 1 film-coated tablet every 3 hours. 4 coated tablets.

From day 17 to 20, 1 coated tablet every 5 hours. 3 film-coated tablets.

From day 21 to 25, 1–2 coated tablets, maximum 2 tablets per day.

A smoker must quit smoking completely no later than 5 days after starting treatment.

You should not smoke during treatment as it may worsen side effects.

If the result of therapy is unsatisfactory, treatment should be discontinued.

Treatment can be resumed after 2-3 months.

Action

Denicyte contains cytisine. Cytisine is an alkaloid that acts on nicotinic receptors. Due to this similarity, once in the body, it acts as a "substitute" for nicotine. It binds to the same receptors, blocking the access of nicotine. Thanks to this, it reduces the symptoms of nicotine craving and nicotine addiction.

Indications

Indications for use include: smoking cessation; reducing nicotine cravings in people quitting smoking; nicotine addiction treatment.

Contraindications

You should not use the medicine if: you are allergic to the active substance (cytisine) or any other ingredient of the medicine; suffers from unstable angina and has recently had a heart attack; recently suffered a stroke; she is pregnant and breastfeeding.

Side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Very common side effects - may affect more than 1 in 10 people: changes in appetite (usually increased), weight gain, irritability, mood changes, anxiety, increased blood pressure (hypertension), dry mouth, sleep (insomnia, drowsiness) , lethargy . , strange dreams, nightmares), headache, rapid heartbeat, nausea, abdominal pain (especially in the upper abdomen), muscle pain.

Common side effects - occur in 1-10 people in 100: dizziness, difficulty concentrating, slow heartbeat, flatulence, changes in taste, heartburn, constipation, vomiting, burning tongue, diarrhea, skin rash, fatigue, nausea.

Rare side effects - observed in 1-10 people in 1000: feeling of heaviness in the head, decreased libido, tearing, difficulty breathing, increased expectoration of sputum, increased secretion of saliva, increased sweating, decreased skin elasticity, fatigue, increased activity of liver enzymes. Most of the side effects listed above occur mainly during the initial period of treatment and disappear with continued treatment. They may also be the result of quitting smoking (withdrawal symptoms) instead of taking Denicit.
